I would say 30 bucks is not an exhorbitant amount of money to spend on a gadget that could make your life so much easier. if you're a list gal. It seems like the list could come in handy for you, why not go for it? You deserve to be a bit frivoulous now and again. Oh and if you like it...let us know. hee hee

Hello! Great post, thanks for sharing.

I used Delicious Library for a while, which catalogues books, movies, games, and CDs, with the barcode option (using my webcam).

However, I finally decided that for me, part of the fun of making a catalogue would be sharing it and comparing it to other people's collections, so I ended up joining LibraryThing, and am slowly entering my book collection (it will take some time, since I have more than 1000 books, and since I just moved they're mostly still in boxes).
I use Library Thing and All Consuming to track what I've been reading for the last three years or so, so I hate to mix what I'm reading with what I own (I know; I'm weird), so I like the idea of having some place where I can track everything I own.

I already entered a few items into each the movie, music, and books software and it's very cool. It looks like you can even export your lists into HTML files and upload them to a web server, so I'll have to do this once I get the scanning done.
